Welcome to our lttle corner of the world

There are many types of digestive disorders. The symptoms may vary widely depending on the specific health issue. And while some people may not realize that a person with Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue syndrome can find themselves battling stomach problems along side of their chronic pain and fatigue, stomach problems can and are a really problem in their daily life.

There are many reasons a person finds themselves battling chronic pain.
But no matter the cause of our pain and misery, we don't have feel alone and isolated. With in our groups you will find loads of joy, compassion and understanding here, and prayer, all from people who live with digestives disorders and chronic pain on a daily bases.

Many mornings it's hard all of us to get out of bed... but we take one moment at a time and having friends to share it all with make it a bit easier. Each post makes the this group richer in knowledge and a sense of purpose. So even if you are feeling a bit down and out, go ahead and share your thoughts. Not only may someone cheer you up, you will likely validate exactly what someone else is feeling who just hasn't yet felt comfortable enough to write about it.

Hope Prevails

It’s easy to give up hope. Obstacles and daily living seem to beat hope out of the best of us at times. For me, dealing with the reality of a chronic illness has shaped and changed my life significantly, so when I was asked how I have dealt with my illness and keep such a positive and peaceful out look on life. It had to take but one moment to come up with the answer, I could not have come this far with out God’s help. That came from the spiritual part of me, the human part realize that the jour… Continue

Managing Fatigue

Does anyone with GP have any successful ideas for managing fatigue? I have tried to nutritionally balance everything, but I may have overlooked something....obviously.

Avoiding antibiotics

OK, I feel a sinus infection coming on--all they symptoms, except a stuffy nose (which I never get). I just got off antibiotics a week ago, and was on another course a month ago for various infections. Meanwhile, my lovely intestinal garden has died, and I am trying to re-grow all of its lovely flora and fauna.
I have decided to use saline spray to regularly rinse and hope that it heals by itself--the way doctors are treating lots of ear infections in babies now.
It's a vicious circle. If you di… Continue

Ground Goat... the healthy choice!

I have been experimenting for a while now with 'alternative' meats trying to find one low in saturated fats yet still high in flavor that sit well on a sensitive stomach and yesterday was the day that I put goat meat to my 'meatloaf' test.

I know that not everyone is a fan of meatloaf, but I have found that if I really want to see how a meat tastes in a meal and just how much fat the meat contains a meatloaf usually gives me the best idea, so I started out using veal, then lamb, then buffalo, t… Continue
